Huge day of games on Wednesday night with all four water polo teams playing at home.
Men’s firsts kicked it off with their game against Manchester met. It was their first game of the season with a mostly new team. After a really tough game and a strong opposition the score ended at 14-9. Although a disappointing results some really positive points to take away from the game and improve on for the coming season.
Women’s firsts then played St Andrews after only playing them two weeks ago in varsity. Another win for the team with the score at 18-0 keeping their clean sheet of the season so far. The team Improved on the score from the last time they played St. Andrews, captain Alison Thompson said “the team is really beginning to gel” which gives a positive direction for the team this season.
Men’s seconds played a really tough game against Dundee. There was a great team spirit throughout, and the freshers to the team played really well. Score ended up with Dundee winning 16-12 but such a strong effort from the boys and lots of positives to move forward with.
Lastly was the women’s seconds playing Glasgow. It was only the second game of the season and yet they played a much stronger game than the previous week. The team had great team spirit and communication throughout the game. Ended with an amazing win 6-4 which was well deserved. The team introduced new freshers into the team who’s spirit really shone in the game.
